  1. Forward this document to your technology coordinator, so the following changes can be made prior to your live date. Please contact our Customer Support at support@su-inc.com or 800.756.0035 ext. 2 with any questions regarding the hardware requirements (last page) or firewall settings.
    1. A) DNS SAYS NOT NECESSARY | PC users: Verify you are up to date with Microsoft updates, Remote Desktop is up to date (Shell Version: 6.3.9600, Control Version 6.3.9600 and Remote Desktop Protocol 8.1), and Internet Explorer 8.0 or later installed. Internet Explorer (8.0 or later) is recommended to take advantage of one-click sign-on for PC users. You do not need to set Internet Explorer as the default browser on your computer, as a desktop shortcut can be created to launch Internet Explorer solely for this application. You can continue using your preferred default browser for all other Internet activity.     2. B) DNS SAYS NOT NECESSARY Firewall Settings/SPF Records: Outbound Configuration of Firewalls / Routers Port 443 must be opened, Port 80 can be opened but is not required, to the following IP Hosted

    3. C) If website filtering tools are in place, please make sure to add https://sas.sui-online.com to the list of ‘Allowed’ sites.
    4. D) Printing Note: If using roaming print software, please let us know prior to installing drivers.
    5. E) Install Print Drivers (PC users): Verify your operating system (32-bit or 64-bit)

    6. F) DNS SAYS NOT NECESSARY | Windows 7 Users: Please click the following link to run the appropriate Microsoft Hotfix for your operating system: https://docs.su-inc.com/support/RDPWin7Hotfix/Win7Hotfix.zip If you are unsure of your operating system, you can simply run all three hotfixes. Please do this step prior to your live date.

    8. H) Password Policy: Current default requires a password reset every 180-days, but an option is available for online passwords to never expire. If your organization selected this option, please note that it is a convenience, is less secure, and may not be in accordance with good security practices. This option only applies to the online access and not the School Accounting System software.
  2. As you will be connecting to a server offsite, all things will be dependent on your Internet connection. Please be mindful of that fact if you have peak times during the day when the Internet is slow due to student use. This is especially true if you have a one-to-one program and students are consuming Internet bandwidth on mobile devices or laptops.
    1. A few things to keep in mind with the online option compared to a local installation of the School Accounting System:
      1. It will take several seconds to launch the environment as it sets up a secure connection.
      2. There may be a lag from time to time when opening screens, saving, searching, etc.
      3. It may take several seconds for certain reports to print.
      4. If making a ‘backup copy’ to a local drive, it will take longer, depending on your Internet connection.
