There are a number of circumstances where remotely controlling another person's computer can be beneficial:

  1. Training a staff member or client
  2. Checking the computer settings of a staff member or client
  3. Helping a client install or upgrade software, such as upgrading a new client from QB Desktop to QBO

Here are the steps:

  1. Have the remote person unplug any secondary monitors
  2. Local and remote people both open "QuickAssist"
  3. If either QuickAssist needs to be upgraded, click the "Get" button in the Windows Store
  4. Local person clicks "assist another person" and then provides a QuickAssist security code, like
  5.  The remote person enters that code in the "Code from Assistant" textbox
  6.  Local person clicks something like "Take Full Control"
  7.  Remote person clicks "Allow"
  8.  Now the local person has full control of the remote computer and can do whatever is necessary.
