Here is the methodology that I employ to create a complex password.
0) Pick a theme. For instance, my theme is around my father.
The password will be created using three sections that support the theme.
1) The first section is 2-3 words
For instance, when I was a kid, my family lived on Kings Ridge Court in Milwaukee
Password: KingsRidge (1 month to crack)
2) The second section is 4-6 numbers
My father was born on October 1st
Password: KingsRidge1001 (9 million years to crack)
3) The third section is 2-4 symbols
My father liked money
Password: KingsRidge1001$$$ (93 trillion years to crack)
Now I have a unique, complex password that is unguessable AND easy for me to remember. Every year, when I need to update my password, I just update the symbol part
