When Natalia restarted her computer on 6/27/22, she saw the following:



Here's how she resolved the situation:

  1. She retrieved her Microsoft credentials, including a username of the format name@edopsoffice365.onmicrosoft.com.. It may be beneficial to get those credentials through the lastpass phone app
  2. She Logged into her Microsoft account myaccount.microsoft.com myaccount.microsoft.com
     
  3. From the profile, she clicked "Manage Devices" under the devices icon and saw this screen listing her historical devices
     
  4. She click on her current computer and that expanded the information box, which now included a "Disable lost device" button and the Device object ID. . She clicked "Disable lost device" 
  5. On that screen she pressed "View Bitlocker keys" 
  6. Finally, click "show recover key" and copy that ~40-digit key into your laptop
