Joe Marrien reported this issue on April 20, 2022. "I keep getting pop ups like the attached telling me to reboot my computer. I do shut down my computer relatively often, but a similar pop up tells me it's been 70+ days since I did a reboot, which is not accurate. Is there something else I need to do when I shut down my computer to make sure these updates are actually installed when I restart my computer? I sometimes get a pop up asking me whether I want to reboot and giving me a yes/no option, which I think should work, but it only ever pops up when I'm deep in the middle of the work day and don't have time to restart at that moment. Thank you!"

Apparently, the issue can be resolved by turning off "Fast Reboot." Below are the steps:

  1. Right-click the Start button.
  2. Click Search.
  3. Type Control Panel and hit Enter on your keyboard.
  4. Click Power Options.
  5. Click Choose what the power buttons do.
  6. Click Change settings that are currently unavailable.
  7. Click Choose what the power buttons do.
  8. Click Change settings that are currently unavailable.
  9. Click Turn on fast startup (recommended) so that the checkmark disappears.
  10. Click Save changes.
